"After serving in the Illinois General Assembly and as the mayor of Springfield, I had the opportunity to to work with Jeff Brownfield, who is now a candidate for the Illinois SenateIn the 52nd District. Jeff’s experience as Executive Director of the StateUniversity Civil Service System has given him the skills to know how to work effectively with others at all levels, including members of the General Assembly, Board of Trustees from each state university and from university administrators.
After his selection by the Board of Trustees (Merit Board), of which I was a member, he led efforts to make revisions to the statute and to streamline and eliminate burdensome regulations by collaborating with many disparate groups.This was accomplished during a time of budget shortfalls and during part of the pandemic.
I am pleased to endorse Jeff for the Illinois Senate in the 52nd District."

In addition to this, Jeff has also received the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in Illinois. “Small business owners know we need a change of direction in Springfield,” said Noah Finley, state director for NFIB in Illinois. “Jeff Brownfield understands the importance of small-business job creators to our local communities. He will push back against job-killing taxes and regulations and advocate for common-sense, pro-growth solutions.”
